Will having a powerfull sub behind Hitachi S715 mess up the crt adjustments. It would be within inches, both on same 4" carpeted wood platform.

Almost complete, just looking for placements.

I want to thank everyone very much for their patience and help.

    George,

I've had subs shaking the walls from a distance of 4" from the sides of 2 different crt based rptvs, one Hitachi and one Sony, never had a problem. I do have carpet over concrete slab, but the sides of the set were vibrating just like the walls.

You shouldn't have any problems, though lots of physical vibration certainly doesn't help. Probably worse on RPTVs that have lots of thin panels that want to vibrate compared to pretty much all heavy metal guts on a FP CRT. As long as it's physically far enough away so as not to cause magnetic interference, then you should be fine, though just keep congervence tweaked up.
