    Hey everyone,
I am building a DIY for a friend. We were planning on getting an AA 15" Atlas driver but the wait is too long (1 month, assuming I can get a hold of someone during today's firesale). What other sub drivers are good options in this price range? The 15" Tempest would work but I want to check out other possibilities before pulling the trigger. I have been away from the DIY sub game for awhile and may have missed some of the latest offerings.

    Required specs:
    - Optimal in a 7cu.ft. or smaller sealed enclosure
    - 500W max for the amp (Parts Express amp)
    - ~$200 (delivered) cost for the driver

Basically, we're looking at $500 total for the sub...

Elemental Designs 16Kv.2, 16Ov.2 or Dayton DVC 15. There's also an ED 15Ae.22 for sale on eBay right now. TC9 motor and aluminum cone. Really nice.

Jeremy, that link is exactly the problem I was talking about. On their website it appears there is a 1 month wait for the Atlas driver and a 2 month wait for the Avalanche driver (the old XBL^2 stock, not the new versions).

Robert, thanks for the suggestions. I'll sim them tonight...

I called and ordered 15 inch Atlas's tonight. Chad said they'd probably mail out on Monday or at least sometime next week. Maybe he can put a rush on one to you if you're really pushed for time.

Thanks all... I called them today and only the Avalanche drivers are backordered (due to the dust cap issue from one of their suppliers). I went ahead and got the Atlas 15 (which was the original plan).
