Looking for a stylish center channel to go along with a Silver Sony 50" plasma screen. I like the one that comes with the Sony DAV-C990 "Dream System", but don't know how well they sound, or would fill an open 30x50 area.

Any other mid-level product lines I should be looking at?

Have not yet chosen furniture, but the TV will sit on top of a stand. There will likely be an open shelf directly below. Price range is ~2500USD for all 5.1 speakers.

I realize my furniture will determine which speakers would look the nicest. But I'm just trying to get a feel for what's out there.

Thanks!

Benchmarked @ HT Magazine ...

, and the -6dB point is at 43 Hz.
... which is even flatter (+1.7/-1.4 dB )! :)
Together, I get a very dynamic, seamless DD/DTS-5.1 surround sound (ATOC; Spiderman; Reign of Fire; etc.) in my 20' x 30' w/10' high vaulted ceiling HT/family room.
JBL latest version is the JBL S-Center II

... same spec's as my original S-Center.
The JBL S-Center II (MSRP US$: $299.99) is a bargain @ Etronics.com for $128.00 + S/H
