has anyone compared the Sony and Fox discs?
I'm wondering if the 4:3 is a pan and scan of the 16:9 frame or it just cuts off the sides...

As far as I am aware the 4:3 is the intended AR so its not P/s and they protect for 16:9 releases.

I have seen some comparisons online (I think there is a thread somwhere in this forum that shows it). It appears that generally the 16:9 version does have more info on the sides, but as has been said, the 4:3 versions are what airs on FX and is the intended ratio according to creator Shawn Ryan. So, obviously if you want to view The Shield as was intended, try to track down the Fox releases.

No... I know the 4:3 was the intended. (I have the Fox's of everything available)

I was just wondering if the latest season, from Sony... if one could just zoom to a 4:3 or if I needed to get it off iTunes.
