I've got this rash type thing with little hives (yeah, sexy I know) so it started out on my stomach, just where the skin touches when I'm leaned over my computer, so I thought it might just be a heat rash or something, so now it's spreading, my chest, my neck, IN my belly button. it itches like mad.
I've tried cortizone cream, and the cortizone spray stuff with minimal success, anyone have anything they've used that works?
I've no idea what caused it, I'm not allergic to anything :frowning:

I would see your doctor.

I had a rash once that failed to respond to store bought cortisone or antifungal ointment.

My doctor prescribed a stronger combination of both and it went away in a couple of days.

It sounds like an outbreak of scabies maybe? I would check in with a dermatologist. That happened to me- I got it from a cousin's towel (while they were staying with me) and didn't know why I was itching and getting little bumps everywhere (and I do mean everywhere). After trying some allergy cream from my physician that didn't work, I went to my dermatologist and he knew what it was right off.
Good luck!

P.S. The good thing was that I gave it to my ex. HAHAHAHAHAHA!:D

Sure you're not allergic to anything? I thought the same until I broke out in itchy hives from taking penicillin. Turns out I'm allergic to that.

I am _slightly_ alergic to penecillin, had a very similar reaction last time I took it so I've stopped taking it. Otherwise no, no alergies, nothing is new in my diet/life/soap I use, I've thought through everything I eat or use and can't think of anything

I've noticed something like that when I wear cycling lycra shorts too many times before it gets washed. I think old sweat may have something to do with it, perhaps something growing there or something and your skin being in contact with it???
Just an idea...I always took those rashes as a sign to throw it in the washer :)

lol nope nothing like that. As a precaution I've washed everything I can get my hands on, towels, sheets.
I always wear 2 shirts anyway, and never recycle undershirts, fat men sweat when it's hot :)
I haven't changed soaps or detergent, shampoo, not a thing :frowning:
it started after i ate at applebee's one night (choice of resturaunts is quite limited in town :D) but I had the same thing I always do, everything else I've made myself, same old boring meals I always eat.

Phillip:

Take some Benadryl. It has the histamine blockers you need. It saved me from a really annoying rash a couple years ago.

There a bunch of possibilities that come to my mind, based on your description, but this is the type of thing that really needs to be looked at to make a diagnosis.
How long ago did you notice it?
If it doesn't start to resolve in another couple of days, or if you get ANY other symptoms (fever, headache, pain anywhere), see your doctor. It doesn't have to be a dermatologist. Your family practice doc will do.

I agree. Anything that a hystemine blocker doesn't correct within 24 hrs, is something for the doctor to look at. Mine ended up being an allergic reaction to cologne. So, now I've gone back to showering.:D

I think it started tuesday night, parts of it have gotten better, but it's also spreading. I'll down some benedryl today and by monday if it hasn't cleared up go see the doc. I'm a college student so I can get in same day and it costs me nothing, just hate to bug them for a stupid rash. The doc there is a pretty good guy.
I hadn't thought of an anti hystamine, that's probably the ticket :)
BTW, don't MAKE me whip out the digital camera, no one here wants to see my ras-infested, fat ass in it's full 1024x768 glory :D
