This is my first post so I hope it comes out right,

I have a 36" Sony Wega TV and I'm getting some kind of interference. The Left side of the screen is slightly lighter than the right side. It gradually gets darker from left to right.

You can only tell when the screen is close to the same color(really evident on blacks).

Could this be a cable problem? Or ac interference?

It happens on both CABLE TV and DVD so it's not the source material. The only thing I can think of is ac interference, or some component under my TV is putting out some interference, I'm suspecting a old cable box...in that case.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Joel, check out the tv forum. Do a search for "uneven brightness problem" and I think you should get a few hits related to Sony Wega sets.

cheers,

Joel, I also have the 36" XBR vega and have the same problem but mine is lighter on the right side, its not really noticeable untill the screen is all black or if watching a movie and the picture is somewhat dark in a sean you can see it,it almost looks like there is a small light in the side of the screen.

By the way mine dose this wether its on (any) video display or cable.
