I can't wait to get this next week. I was just wondering though if anyone here will be getting it besides me?. I also wonder how many people will be playing this online considering the $200+ price tag required. I own the original so it will only cost me $80 for the new game.

I have the original gear so I'm pretty excited about having another game to justify that big purchase. Having TWO games now should be a real incentive to invest in the equipment.

I am going to be getting Line of Contact and I was in the beta test for it.

    IT is a great game.

Many of us at www.gamersrepublic.net have it. We even have a small forum that we just started for it there as well.

I assume they are selling this one with a controller again. I wanted the original SB, but was unable to find a copy. That controller just looks amazing, and appears to be a helluva lot of fun. [IMG]

Line of Contact does not come with the controller. You have to buy Steel Battalion with the controller.

Ebgames.com has some for sale now so you better hurry and order one or go to their stores.

I've ordered it, and I think about 15 of the LCVG guys are getting it.

I don't have the original yet, so I have lots of learning to do.

Hmmm... according to OXM, the controller will be released again. Although the functionality will remain the same, it is said that aesthetically, there will be some minor changes (additional lights, and the like). This was mentioned in last month's issue. Not sure if that has changed since then but I'd thought I'd mention it.

The re-release controller will be the same as the original controller except the bottons
will be blue instead of green.

It's not just a controller, it includes the original single-player game.

It's just a reissue of the original bundle, with blue lights. There is no separate controller.

It's My Birthday this week so I preordered the Orignal and the new game so go ahead and add me but it's prbably gonna be awhile before I'm comfortable enough with the controller to go online... from what I understand the original game comes with a second disk making it playable online is this true?

How are you guys going to manage this controller spacewise? I've heard of people building or buying special tables just to properly house this thing.

I bought a 15 dollar poker table at Walmart to set the controller on (way back when it was originally released. The top of the table has a plasticy surface which makes it perfect since the controller grips prevent it from sliding around.

I bought the rectangular table at Walmart with the soft top. It is vinyl on top. It takes up less space forward wise and lines up along the couch nicely.

The Steel Battalion controller package does not come with a disk to let you go online with it. The first game came out without the online. Line of Contact is the online portion how they wanted to do it right. So put them together and you have a great singleplayer game and a great multiplayer game that both standout in their own right.

Check out some of the Steel Battalion products coming out:

THe original article from Japan mentioned the original SB rerelease shipping with an online element, guess they dropped it to not compete with SB:LOC.

It would be nice if you guys already playing or just setting up post pictures of your setup or stands that you've bought.

    I can do that.

I will have my wife take a picture of me playing LOC this weekend. [IMG]
