I watched the new version and was reminded of a quote from Boogie Nights, from a scene about editing together a bunch of "artful" smut: "We did it. We really did it. We made a real movie this time."

I mean—it still kinda sucks, but it was actually engrossing a few times. It was quote amazing to see three hours of footage built into a wholly-new edit without using anything from the original.
