Is there any chance of a Special Edition or reissue of this classic New York mob flick?

Can anyone tell me if the current release is anamorphic?

I've been holding back on picking up this title with great difficulty, hoping that it might see better treatment... should I just go ahead and but it or can we eventually expect to see a proper release?

Actually, let me turn this into a q&a DVD's with Sean Penn that currently stink thread...

What about the 1988 gang movie Colors with Robert Duvall also, any word on whether that will get a proper release and whether the current DVD is anamorphic?

Marco, State of Grace is anamorphic. The transfer is okay, not great but definetly watchable. I can't see them doing a special edition on this one, and given the low price I wouldn't hesitate on this one. This was the first film saw Gary Oldman in and when I found out later he is English I was quite suprised. Great cast in the movie.
