I found it a little hard to get into at first, but now (Ep 5) things are finally moving along.
I doubt they will be able to show the attempt at seizing the ship with the gold with only 8 episodes, so a second season would be necessary to pull it off.

I've been enjoying the show from the start. The production values are quite high, the location looks great, and the acting is surprisingly good.

I want to add that the battle scenes in episode V were really great. Heck, just the "sailing" scenes were good.

First season is over. I thought it was really quite excellent. Great show from top to bottom, with perhaps one of the best soundscapes in all of television. Bear McCreary's score is amazing, as always.

I'll be back for season 2, no doubt.

Great show, took a little time to grow to like it. You're right, I noticed the soundscape in the first episode. The sailing scenes look and sound amazing.
