The only question I have... Why go in-wall speakers and not get an Acoustically Transparent(AT) screen? You are already budgeting $1600 for a screen...

Welcome to HTF Mike. Your post is a bit hard to parse, with a ton of links interspersed in with all caps text. The 5020 is a great PJ, from what I can tell. Still waiting to audition one myself. You might like to look at one and compare it to a Panasonic 8000. I recommend this mount over the one you linked, if you are flush mounting: http://www.amazon.com/Peerless-PRGUNV-Precision-Universal-Projector/dp/B000TXNS6G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1357841192&sr=8-2&keywords=projector+mount+peerless I recommend really thinking over whether a $1600 screen is a good choice for a first HT, but if you are fine with that budget you should check out Stewart and DaLite. As Sam notes above, AT might be cool to consider at that price. I can't help ya with the in walls. I use all freestanding speakers and I like the bang for the buck performance that my Paradigms give me. Definitely recommend you audition a bunch of speakers and see what you like and if the more expensive ones sound any better to you! Good luck and keep us posted. A hand drawn schematic of the room would help us help you, as would description of any obstacles and gotchas like picture windows....

Why In-wall speakers ? Wife Acceptance Factor? They will turn your otherwise excellent theater experience into average at best.

If you are doing this yourself...read this... http://www.cepro.com/article/how_to_prevent_audio_loss_with_in_wall_speaker_systems/ Those SpeakerCraft are good speakers. Most "audio problems" with in-walls are caused by... 1. Lousy install location. 2. Unrealistic expectation(compared to a "normal" in box speaker) 3. Buying the "wrong type" for your wall. Some are made to be open baffle...some are made to be "boxed".

What's your time line? If you are doing most of the work yourself, expect it to take awhile (unless you do this sort of thing for a living). Look at the dates on some of the threads of areas that were built out from scratch. From those dates, it isn't unusal for someone who is DIY to take a year or two. AV equipment changes. If you take awhile getting the space far enough along to be usable, the warranties on what you buy could well be expired, and it's possible the equipment you buy and put away could be bought for much less later. As an example, I was looking at Denon and Onkyo AVR's. I saved $500 buying a Denon 3312 when the price dropped because it was being replaced by this years model. Some equipment is unlikely to change, like Dimmers, lights and cable. While it seems logical (and fun) to plan (and budget) for what you will use, I'd do most of the building before getting AV equipment, unless you are able to use it elsewhere.
