Hi, I have been looking into getting 3D for my HT and I found and interesting site that said that the Star Wars Films ALL 6 would be getting released in 3D. Now they stated when that is going to Happen is anybodys guess. and that is all it said.

I was looking around and did NOT see Any OFFICAIL News on a 3D Release has anyone else heard this Rumor or any news or links of any Official Word on this??

SORRY I can NOT Find the link for this Site that stated this Rumor but It was some sort of 3D website and I lost the link But will continue to try and find the link??

It's not a rumor. Lucas said it was going to happen. It was actually supposed to happen a couple years after episode 3(2007?) but looks like it was put on the back burner for a possible 35th anniversary or maybe when the live action tv series is finished.
George Lucas aiming to release the Star Wars movies in 3D

It was in Star Wars insider a few years back.

IIRC, the release of Star Wars 3-D was delayed so that more theaters would have time to install the digital projection equipment necessary to show it.

Yeah, that's pretty much what Rick McCallum has been saying for a few years now. The last I read about it was that there would need to be at least 3000 digital screens in order to make a 3-D release financially feasible.

Another rumor I came across was that Lucas gave up on this, at least for the OT. Because it was of the way the movies where shot in the 70's and 80's, they were coming across problems. Then I read an interview with James Cameron from March of this year and he confirmed that Lucas IS doing SW in the 3-D. So who knows what's going on.

I believe Cameron over the this other rumor, but Lucasfilm really hasn't said anything about it lately. All the talk has been The Clone Wars movie / TV series, the live action SW TV series and Indy 4.

Right now it does not make sense to divert any LFL attention from their current projects.

Would not surprise me once Indy IV and Clone Wars are out in theatres and on dvds, that the shift will inevitably go back to 3D
