My parents lived in Windsor Ontario. It had only one Odeon movie theatre, which was the chain with the rights to show “Star Wars” . The theatre showed “Jaws” all summer. As a result, my father who was a huge SyFi fan only got to see “Star Wars” when “The Empire Strikes Back” came out in 1980.

I just did a quick search, and there was indeed 2 separate threads. One was for the Review, and the other was for the Discussion (with SPOLER ALERT in the thread title).

Wow, avoid all trailers. Even the small TV ones. A major plot point was spoiled for me in a small TV ad.

I know the part you are talking about because it hit me too. I'm just not sold on it being a major plot point. There were scenes in The Force Awakens and Rogue One trailers that were never in the movies. As far as that track record goes, I'm not betting on anything shown to us.

No matter what, it happens in the movie and now we know it. It is better not to know it before we see the movie.

JJ on returning to direct episode IX

, “I had no intention to return.” He continued,

“But when the opportunity presented itself to finish a story that we had begun with these new characters, to tell the last chapter of their story, it felt like there was a chance to do it in a way where we could go beyond, and do better than we did in Seven. I learned so much in that movie and I saw that this was a chance to sort of realize something that we hadn’t quite achieved – and part of that was it was simply the beginning of these new characters and their story. The opportunity to sort of take what we had learned, to take the feeling of who these characters are and what they are and give them a final chapter that felt in the spirit of what we begun? It was too delicious of an opportunity to pass up.”

Ha. In all seriousness I don’t think JJ needs the money. I believe his reasons for taking the project.

Me too. Wrapping up what is likely to be one of (if not) the most popular trilogy of movies ever is something of fool's errand because alot of people will have different ideas of how things should end and gripe about it.

Yeah, I don't think he needs the money, but I am excited to see him finally finish a project. JJ has spent a career starting things and then passing them off long before the conclusion, and it will be exciting to see him focused on a different aspect of his craft than he normally focuses on.

Forget Halloween, this is the scariest time of the year when some people will have seen the new Star Wars movie and I haven't.

Interesting stream. You have 4 Channels to choose. Channel 1 is the main one, 2-4 some alternative cameras.

That's how I felt when Twin Peaks: The Return premiered at Cannes before airing on Showtime. I've waited years for this: do not ruin it! And people were surprisingly good about it. (I think the new DVD front cover reveals more about the show than anyone else did before it aired.)

Well, I guess red carpets are spoilers too! An actor just showed up that normally shouldn't wouldn't be there! Does that say anything?!
