Well selfishly I prefer Christmas time movies. I really love going to the movies when it's cold outside. ;) It actually started with going to see the Harry Potter films and LOTR each thanksgiving and Xmas. But I've been known to see a Star Wars film....even in the dreaded summer :) :D

They could've had it out Summer 2015, if they hadn't spent a whole year after the Disney sale doing.....whatever it was they were doing. I'm going to be grumpy if it does turn out to be delayed. I'm really looking forward to the Christmas release, which I think is perfect.

They'll find some creative ways around this. Harrison doesn't have to be standing up to fly the Falcon, and movies have used body doubles for certain shots ages before CGI came along. Somebody probably could create a rig to shoot him from the waist up, so it looks like he's walking. Necessity is the mother of invention.

But why do that? Why not just wait until he is fully healed and able to do the shots himself? What's the big deal in delaying the film 6 months or so. I have waited this long so I can wait a bit longer. The film will certainly be better with the additional time.

Because there's a couple billion dollars that Disney wants ASAP and not in another six months. I'm not saying that that's a good thing but unless Ford's injury somehow fundamentally destroys the movie, they aren't changing the date again. Personally, I still think this is much ado about nothing because I can't imagine that they can't work around Ford's injury and still make the same movie if this hadn't happened.

Disney could always release the original theatrical versions of the OT on Blu-ray to keep fans' minds off the delay. :)

Summer 2016 makes more sense to me.

Looking at what is coming in the summer of 2016.........Transformers 5, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Batman Vs Superman, The Amazing Spiderman 3, Finding Dory, The Alice In Wonderland sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, Captain America 3, How To Train Your Dragon 3, Ice Age 5 and a third Apes film and rumoured is Independence Day 2 although i wonder if that last one will be made, oh and Avatar 2, will be Xmas 2016.

The third Star Trek film will come out in 2016 too, maybe they want to avoid some of these films.

Yeah okay it's a busy summer of sequels in 2016 but a new Star Wars film would slay all before it.

Jeez! With a list like that I really have no faith in Hollywood anymore, especially for summer movies. Does no one in this industry have any imagination??

What he said! Uncut, uncensored. With a frame-by-frame 4k restoration of the OCN's. Two audio mixes: one that recreates Ben Burtt's best Dolby Stereo mix and a full fledged Dolby Atmos or DTS-UHD mix.

If you look at the highest grossing movies of the last 10 or 15 years, I would argue that the blame lies entirely with the audience. If they went to something other movies based on existing properties, Hollywood might take the occasional chance.

I'm just miffed that Fox won't make a new X-Files film.

Too bad now the Empire Leicester Square has gone to those lieMAX dogs for watered down half sized.

I saw The X-Files I want to believe there in THX-Files sound system. Its funny all these X-Files Gillian fans show up and they go for the hired smaller 4 and 5 screens? Non-THX-filed. I heard the JBL truth in Empire 1, well mostly bloody dogs barking it was and hardly any explosion or guns being fired. But least I got to, "I can't tell? I hear those dogs barking".

At any rate STAR WARS 7 will NOT look or sound and feel great here other than it will be crap now at the Empire as it no longer looks like how it did pictured above ^^^^ I won't ever be going back to this cinema again! To waste £20.00 on lieMAX! I have better things to do with £20.00.

This poster taken from Empire was being bid on in Leicester Square park, and I think it went for £200.00? OMG. It was an amusing X-Files THX day for me a few years ago well worth the £20.00 to London, return and ticket price? I have the toilet ticket around somewhere?

Hollywood being sequel happy is nothing new.

The Clone Wars movie notwithstanding, we haven't had a new Star Wars flick in nine years though.

If history is any indicator, they'll all still go and then complain bitterly for years after seeing it.
