I'm looking forward to this. The one great comedy team that truly stayed friends until the end. And the only one of the comedy greats that kept me laughing OUT LOUD. Appropriate that they release this on my birthday.

Very much looking forward to this. Laurel and Hardy are one of the sublime comedy teams. I read this film is closing the London Film Festival; hopefully this indicates a high quality film.

I’m looking forward to this but I think it’s going to be a “small” release. Unfortunately a lot of younger people don’t even know who they are.

I could see there being an Oscar push for Reilly in this one. He's a well liked actor who has only been nominated once, and that was 15 years ago.

"Young people" didn't know about Dunkirk and still that movie was a hit! :D

The Laurel and Hardy biopic doesn't look like something aimed at teens anyway. It's clearly a movie for which low box office expectations will exist...

GoFoBo sent me an invitation for a pair of tickets for this, but it was playing on a night that would have been impossible for me to attend. I would have enjoyed it I'm sure.

I've never actually been to one of their events, but I get the impression that more people show up for the free tickets than they might have seats for, and anyone who arrives too late doesn't get it. So it can become a madhouse of sorts.

Saw this today.

Fantastic film. Both stars were terrific (with incredible makeup).

I was teary at the end.

It wasn't flashy, and it took its time. In some ways, it was like a L&H routine. You knew what was likely to happen, but the timing and the waiting and the buildup to the inevitable just worked.

I think this is a weird weekend for this to expand.

The adult audience for which it is clearly aiming has so many options out right now, especially with the Oscar nominations having been announced this week. It just doesn't have a lot of buzz when in competition with the Oscar films. It might have been wiser to hold the release by a couple of months, when it could have been an adult-oriented piece of counterprogramming to, say, Captain Marvel or Dumbo or something, instead of throwing it to the wolves when the Oscar films are getting all the attention.

I didn't get to it this weekend, and next weekend is pretty full for me too. We'll see how long it stays around, but I think I'll have to pass on this one (which I might not have in a less-crowded time period.)

I'm guessing the studio thought it'd get Oscar noms so they figured this would be a good weekend to go wider.

Didn't pan out that way...
