    Say It Ain't So!

Now that Sony has the MGM catalog, let the madness begin! But didn't Sly already go this route in VICTORY, aka 'The Great Escape with Soccer?'

I'm a fan of "Victory". Call it a guilty pleasure. [IMG]

But, seriously - Sony gets the MGM library and this is their first move. I can think of a million worse ideas. I LOVE "The Great Escape". It's more worthy of remaking than most of the crud we get nowadays.

VICTORY wasn't a bad movie, just very familiar, right down to Stallone being caught on purpose and returning to the camp.

Sure, there are worse movies to remake, but some simply don't need to be remade!

Begin? If anything, Sony is more likely to slow down MGM's efforts to pillage its own library in an attempt to exploit anything with a vaguely familiar name. James Bond, The Pink Panther, Rollerball, The Thomas Crown Affair, TV versions of Carrie, Poltergeist, Stargate, The Magnificent Seven, the new The Outer Limits all showed up in the past ten or so years.
