I just purchased the Lawrence of Arabia 2 disc DVD from Amazon.com (the one that looks like a book). The back of it has a paper telling the specs of the dvd that is only held on with a little bit of that weird stretchy glue. I removed it and now there is a little spot where the glue is. I could just exchange it, however, i assume the new one will have the same problem and these are getting increasingly hard to find because they have came out with the inferior one disc version. Does anyone know how to get this stain out? Thanks!

A quick check of my copy didn't reveal any stain... I remember the back spec sheet literally falling off as I opened the set, so maybe my copy didn't even have any glue? Can't say for sure. At any rate, I suppose it's possible to get a copy without a stain.

Lighter fluid is generally great for removing sticky residue (and even the stickers that leave it) without causing a stain on most surfaces. First, though, try a little of the fluid on the inside "board" of the case's cloth, to make sure it won't stain.

The stain is not a sticky type of stain. It is just a round spot.

    Todd,

It may well be there because of the amount of time passed. It's been around a year since that came out so when you consider the "goo" they used to keep that paper on has been there for a year, you may not be able to get it out.

Mine also didn't have a stain on it. However, as pointed out before, it may have something to do with the amount of time the glue was on there. I bought mine a few weeks after it came out. If it's a big deal, I'd take it back and get a new one.

Serves you right for not keeping your camel in a proper place.

Jonathan, didn't that destroy the front of the cover art?
I'd say direct application of Era to the stain would be a MUCH better idea
