I've wondered why someone didn't do this long ago. I'm no computer genius, but as I understand it this program works as a registry 'guard dog' telling you each time a program wants to do a suspect activity, and suspending it until you approve.

It sort of pre-empts spyware with this feature. Most spyware programs only scan, this is like building a brick wall.

I think it is a good idea, any thoughts from the techies?

Never heard of this particular one. Spybot S&D has a similar function that you can enable called S&D Resident.

ZoneAlarm provides something like it, but primarily aimed at anything going out from the PC to the network...

Someone did. :) (Actually several someones did.) As noted Spybot does this, as does the Pro (paid) version of Ad Aware, the recent Microsoft Anti-spyware beta, and several other programs I've heard of. This is really nothing new, although it is certainly nice to see another free program available that incorporates such features.
