OK, here's a "juicy thread" I have a good friend who runs a business of sorts (well, no money changes hands, and nothing illegal) but it does involve traffic of sorts. So, as such, we've looked into bugging the house with spy cameras, basically as many as I can get.

I've looked into board level cameras, and have thus far been pretty happy with their ability to hide, as well as nanny cameras (hidden in air purifiers and the like)

But right now, we're looking into easily hidden and very functional hidden microphone technologies.

I've looked at some of the ETS microphones.. something like the ETS M1: http://www.etsnm.com/microphones.html

But, I'm really need something with a broad range that we can split amongst three or four different recording angles.

No, none of those.. hell, if it was one of those, you'd think we'd have access to some kick ass gear. [IMG]

I have setup security camera setups (nanny cam setups) where we hid all the cameras and isolated the views.. but to integrate in high quality sound as part of the recording.. that's the trick.

You're not filming amatuer porn films on the sly are you? Cuz that's definitely illegal.

Uh, no. But you're partially right (illegal to sell) if you are a home owner and you reside in the home, and you were to record any ongoings in it, as long as one party is aware and you do not sell, it is legal.. (but that isn't the case here at all, this is for a different purpose)

Just make sure it is for home (personal use). If it's displayed to any public, it becomes illegal because you've included sound.

*laugh* well, in this case, it isn't that at all (this actually has to deal with recording sessions of work with an autistic child, so seperate use)

I was just pointing out the other.. I have worked with a lot of people on sec. cam installs (ADT is a client of mine) and so I know you can record almost anything that goes on in your house.. including anything that happens in your kids rooms, etc.. which of course you can't sell.. but I've known many people who caught spouses/kids in compromising positions.. the tape was enough to make the point.

Here, though, I just need better directional audio for someone who does work as an autistic counselor in exchange for reviews. No $$ or anything like that, she just does initial reviews for school districts, etc. and then she -can- make money later if hired as a full-time para or service (she handles about 2/3 kids a year)

It is fairly imperative that everything is hidden well as not to be noticable by parents or kids who come.. now, the parents -know- that the session will be recorded, it's just always easier for people to let their guard down if they forget about it (ie, don't see it as an ever present force in the room like a camcorder)

Side note: in RE: of the other thread, I'd put my advice, but I think if I did, I think jaws would drop and it'd take more guts on my part to say such in an open forum. But my wife & I are very happy...
