None of my friends are on break at the same time that I am. So my plan is to set up my HT while I'm home. This consists of some JBL speakers and a Hsu sub. The only thing is that I'm setting up in the basement. I did this over Christmas break and the sub was unimpressive. Should I disassemble my bed and other things and set up in my bedroom or a smaller room because the basement is not partitioned off and is open to the size of the house, so I got poor response from my sub. I really think my sub is awesome, but it didn't show over break. Please give me some opinions. Thanks. Chris

Which model Hsu is it? Also, what's the sq footage of your basement? Finally, what condition is your basement in (finished, unfinished, etc)?

I'm guessing you've got too much room for you sub. Your bedroom or another location may be preferable.

I have an STF-1. The sq. footage is near 1700 and yes the basement is unfinished.
