I'm a newbie trying to learn more about home theater but I just don't get it when it comes to measuring sound, how speakers work, what watts, ohms, db, and all that really means.

I want to calibrate my speakers with a SPL but don't understand the manual. If anyone knows a link for an easy to understand guide that would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Peter

Whats the deal with bass test tones and the RS SPL meter? If I'm using the Sound & Vision disk and all my other speakers are balanced to 75db output is my subwoofer supposed to be 73, 75, or 77? I think I've read about it not getting bass isgnals well and the number would be off.
