Is the box set stuff with the LE enough for me to pay 15 more bucks? I can get it for around 30...and was wondering what you guys thought.

I've been debating the same question for a couple days. I've broken it down to this...

The cell = Okay, I like the idea.

The comic = Will it be a straight-forward reprint (the contents I already have in a hardcover), or something unique that would get me to consider buying it?

The drawing = I have no idea what the Romita art will look like. They're not my favorite Spidey artists but I do enjoy their work from time to time. (Wild thought; If they got them to create art for the LE insert, replacing the poster art, then I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Just on the cool factor alone.)

The real kink is that we have yet to see a pic of what the set will look like. The packaging, the art, the comic, the cell - they're all in the dark right now so it's hard for me to get excited about a blind purchase like this.

Matt, where can you get it for thirty dollars?

Amazon with Share the Love and a coupon. I was going to get that and South Park Season 1 on the same order for 55 shipped.

Anyway...Your thought process is the same as mine, and I agree that the remaining question is what it all looks like. I suppose once some pics come out, it will be an easier decision.

Glad to know someone is in the same predicament as myself.

I'm sure they'll have some pics soon. Until then, I'll hold off on my pre-order.
I'll have to check out those Amazon offers. Thanks for the info! [IMG]

Doesn't it come with the a CD as well, making it 3-discs? I've seen the pics for either the Region 2 or 4 release, it comes in a great looking red cardboard slipcase which holds the familiar foldout digipak. The packaging alone makes me want to buy the limited.

I'm getting the LE. The AMAZING FANTASY #15 reprint and the Romita drawings are what hooked me. But I still get the urge to cancel the order and just get the regular Widescreen.

Amazon doesn't have any details on the set. DVDFile's copy of the press release didn't have any particulars either.

In fact, none of the retailers make mention of a third disc, although the Australian retailers have pics of their box set. (The Aussie set looks fantastic!)

This what DVD Planet has listed...

While I was a DC fan growing up during the comics' Silver Age, Spidey was an exception. I'd consider the LE for the right price. A reprint & a CD have limited added value to me...

I did not see this in theaters. Is it worth purchasing unseen?

I suppose that all depends...do you like comic book movies in general?

BTW...any idea where I can see some R4 pics?

DVDEmpire has the LE for a pre-order price of $32.47, which for what it contains, seems like a great deal. I have ordered the SE, but the more I compare, it seems the LE is a better choice.
    Matt,
That Australian cover-art and packaging kicks serious ass. If indeed that is what the Region 1 LE looks like, I am buying it in a heartbeat.

    Guys,
you are forgetting that the R4 Gift set also includes the Stan Lee Mutants, Monsters & Marvels DVD, which I have not seen with the R1 LE
For me it will be R4.

"With great DVD's come great confusion..." [IMG]
I haven't seen one American e-tailer advertising a third disc, though what I have read (like the listing I pasted above) usually uses the phrase "and more", so that could mean we get a car with it for all we know.
Has there ever been an official press release that details the entire collector's set?
    Thanks.

I forgot about that. If Mutants, Monsters & Marvels came with the set, it would probably seal the deal for me.
