The two hot summer movies in US: Spider-man and Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the clones have passed Chinese censorship bureau of films and will start showing in Beijing movie theaters in July. This is the fastest import of Hollywood movies into China to date.

That's very interesting. I somehow doubt these two will become sensations over there, but the studios must be salivating over the biggest market in the world.

Spider-man may not. But Star Wars has quite a following in China. Also Harry Porter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring both did quite well in China movie theaters recently.

Even if the films passed the censors, will the films themselves be uncensored? Or would that be sort of taken care of in the translation?

I don't think anything in these two movies would be censored. In China, the bureau of censorship usually cut nudity scenes.
As for translation, it's hard to tell. But there will be a few theaters showing them in original English dialogue.
