So I was in Media Play today and noticed they had various (6-8) DVDs of the 1994 Spider-man cartoon for $6.29 a piece. There was one with 2 episodes featuring Black Cat, another with Blade, etc. Apparently, they're released via "Marvel Studios". I didn't notice any other company listed on the package, and certainly no Buena Vista tag. Does anyone know about these discs? Who exactly is releasing them, are there more on the way, how's the quality, etc.? This is the first I've seen of them and no one appears to have any news about them either.

I haven't seen anything aside from what was in the store. mediaplay.com doesn't even seem to have it, and apparently neither does ebay. Bizarre...

You know what? I screwed up on the title of the thread. It should state "2 episode discs" What was I thinking? I bought one of 'em today with the last two episodes of the series on it - will let you all know what quality it is...

    Alright, here's the deal:

There were six sets available, each with two episodes.

The titles were (iirc): Black Cat, Return of the Green Goblin, The Hobgoblin, Blade the Vampire Hunter, Kraven the Hunter, and I Really Hate Clones.

I picked up I Really Hate Clones, it has the final two episodes of the series on it. If the rest of the discs follow suit, they are presented 4:3 with Dolby Prologic. No menu is present. Although there are chapters, they are pretty haphazzardly placed. The discs appear to be released directly by Marvel Studios, with no apparent connection with Disney.

The quality is fine, much like the original presentation I would guess, although blacks were pretty washed out.

That's it. For $6/piece it's not too bad, but just give me season sets already!

Is there any cover art, back cover art, disc art, etc, available to view online for these releases? I'm interested to check these out especially since they don't seem confined to just Media Play. A poster over at Toon Zone said he found some in a store he works at:

I'd like to see these. They have some good episodes featured on them.
