    THE DIRTY DOZEN
    DOUBLE FEATURE

    - The Dirty Dozen: The Deadly Mission and The Dirty Dozen: The Fatal Mission Debut on a Two-Disc DVD Set May 23 -

Culver City, Calif. (March 13, 2006) – The rag-tag crew of army miscreants is back for two more electrifying missions when MGM Home Entertainment and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment release The Dirty Dozen Double Feature on DVD May 23. Starring Oscar®-winner Ernest Borgnine (Marty, The Poseidon Adventure), Telly Savalas (Kojak, Kelly's Heroes), Erik Estrada (National Lampoon's Van Wilder, CHiPs) and Heather Thomas (Over the Grand Canyon, Cyclone), The Dirty Dozen Double Feature contains the second and third “made-for-TV” sequels to the Academy Award®-winning film, Dirty Dozen (1967: Best Effects/Sound Effects). The 2-disc double feature includes The Dirty Dozen: The Deadly Mission and The Dirty Dozen: The Fatal Mission on DVD for the first time. Both immensely-popular World War II dramas are available for an SRP of $19.94.

Made in 1987 and capitalizing on the classic original film’s appeal, The Dirty Dozen: The Deadly Mission centers around a “Dirty Dozen” team of convicted army prisoners enlisted by charismatic but controversial Major Joseph Wright (Savalas) for a dangerous mission. Major Wright and the Dozen must destroy a remote French monastery being used by the Nazis as a nerve gas manufacturing plant before the Germans make enough to use against the Allies.

The squad returns for another high-risk mission in The Dirty Dozen: The Fatal Mission, the third-sequel made for television in 1988. This time, Major Wright and the Dirty Dozen must thwart a Nazi scheme to establish a dreaded Fourth Reich by heading off a group of Nazi soldiers who are riding the Orient Express to Istanbul.

The Dirty Dozen Double Feature has a run time of 189 minutes and is not rated. Artwork is available at www.SPHEPublicity.com. Visit Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on the Web at www.SonyPictures.com.

What happened to The Dirty Dozen: The Next Mission, the first sequel from 1985 starring Lee Marvin? Was there an announcement that I missed?

Warners also announced the 1967 "Dirty Dozen" along with the TV movie "sequel" today. It's over at DVD Times. Since the sequel (more of a remake actually) was made for television, I assume it will be full-frame.
