Culver City, CA (9/6/12) – From Academy Award®-winning director Jonathan Demme (1992, Best Director, The Silence of the Lambs) comes the critically acclaimed concert film NEIL YOUNG JOURNEYS, available
on Blu-ray™ and DVD on October 16th from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Shot during the last two nights of Neil Young’s 2011 Le Noise world tour, long-time fan and collaborator Jonathan Demme captures the multiple GRAMMY® winner, and two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee with a stunning intimacy both on stage and off. The documentary follows Young, traveling from his hometown of Omemee, Ontario to Toronto's iconic music venue, Massey Hall, in a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria, while sharing stories about his life and childhood. Now, music fans can experience this revelatory look into the heart and soul of the music
legend on Blu-ray and DVD, featuring mesmerizing performances of Young’s classic songs "Ohio" and “Hey Hey, My My," as well as previously unreleased songs "Leia" and "You Never Call" in stunning high definition picture and sound. In addition, the Blu-ray and DVD include three featurettes: “Making Journeys;” “Journey to Slamdance: A Conversation with Neil Young & Jonathan Demme,” a Q&A discussion filmed at the Slamdance Film Festival; and “The 92nd Street Y Talks with Neil Young & Jonathan Demme,” providing a closer look at the enduring collaboration between Demme and Young.

In May of 2011, Neil Young drove a 1956 Crown Victoria from his idyllic hometown of Omemee, Ontario to downtown Toronto's iconic Massey Hall where he intimately performed the last two nights of his solo world
tour. Along the drive, Young recounted insightful and introspective stories from his youth to filmmaker Jonathan Demme. Demme, a long-time fan and collaborator, captured these tales of Young's childhood and masterfully weaved them together with his mesmerizing music including live concert performances from the 2010 album Le Noise and powerful renditions of classics including "Ohio", “Hey Hey, My My", "I Believe in You" and previously unreleased songs "Leia" and "You Never Call." Through the tunes and the tales, Demme portrays a personal, retrospective look into the heart and soul of the artist.

NEIL YOUNG JOURNEYS was produced by Jonathan Demme and Elliot Rabinowitz (Neil Young: Heart of Gold, Neil Young: Silver and Gold). The film has a run time of approximately 84 minutes and is rated PG for language, including some drug references and brief, thematic material.
