Monster House is the spooky, thrilling and clever story of two young boys, D.J. and Chowder, who find that their neighbor Horace Nebbercracker is a little more than a grouchy old man. Everyone thought that D.J. had a particularly overactive imagination as he was convinced that his hagard and crabby neighbor Horace Nebbercracker was responsible for Mrs. Nebbercracker's mysterious disappearance. Any toy that touches Nebbercraker's property promptly dissappears, swallowed up by the cavernous house in which Horace lives. D.J. has seen it with his own eyes! But no one believes him, not even his best friend, Chowder. Everyone slowly discovers that D.J. is not imagining things. Everything he's seen is absolutely true and it's about to get much worse than anything D.J. could have imagined.

Didn't see it in theaters but heard nothing but good things about it. Have to say these are the kind of titles that will really make me jealous about not owning a Blu-Ray player. I really don't care about the format war. Once a reliable blu-ray player is released, along with titles that use either vc-1 or a higher m-peg 2 bit rate like dvhs did, I'll pick up a player....and its exactly for things like this...not sitting on the sidelines for new releases exclusive to one format or another.

hmm, could this be the first Blu-ray disc that doesn't cut out bonus features... (short running time + CG source, not film)?

Damn! Wanted to see this in IMAX-3D and it didn't show in my city... now Blu-ray... Bring down the prices of the Blu-ray players and this would be a must-buy. I do have the Toshiba HD-DVD player and would certainly spring for the HD-DVD version, but now I won't even buy the SD-DVD version as there is an HD version out there...
