Culver City, CA (September 5, 2005) * In 1981, renowned children¹s author
Chris Van Allsburg (Polar Express, Zathura) published Jumanji, a story about
two children, a mysterious board game and the startling collision of two
worlds. The book became an immediate global success and fired up the
imaginations of young and old alike. In 1995, director Joe Johnston (The
Rocketeer, Jurassic Park III), actor Robin Williams (Robots, Aladdin), and
an army of special effects wizards brought the award-winning book to
cinematic life in the TriStar Pictures theatrical release Jumanji.

Now, in honor of the 10th Anniversary of the landmark film and celebrating
the upcoming theatrical release of Chris Van Allsburg¹s Zathura, Sony
Pictures Home Entertainment unveils the Jumanji Deluxe Edition DVD, ready to
pounce November 8, 2005 with an SRP of $19.94. In addition, Jumanji makes
its bow on UMD for PSP (Playstation Portable handheld entertainment
system). SLP for the UMD is $19.95.

    * At participating theatres. Offer expires Dec. 23, 2005

Inside the Jumanji Deluxe Edition DVD is a free movie ticket (up to $7.50
value*) to see Columbia Pictures¹ new theatrical release Zathura, an
out-of-this-world adventure based on another best-selling children¹s book
from Chris Van Allsburg (who also wrote ³The Polar Express²) and stars Tim
    Robbins (War Of The Worlds).

The 2-disc Jumanji Deluxe Edition DVD is packaged in an outer sleeve that
opens to reveal a novelty playable board game. The film is presented in its
original theatrical aspect ratio (1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen) and includes
new bonus features designed with kids in mind to once again transport
viewers into the magical, mystical world of Jumanji. The release also
includes bonus material from the previous Jumanji
    DVD release.

    Jumanji Synopsis

Co-starring Bonnie Hunt (Cheaper By The Dozen), Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man
and Spider-Man 2) and David Alan Grier (Bewitched), Jumanji spins the
amazing tale of Alan Parrish (Williams) who, as a child, gets transported
    into the untamed jungles of

Jumanji while playing the enigmatic board game. Trapped for 26 years, he¹s
freed from the game¹s spell by two unsuspecting children. Now a grown man,
Alan reunites with his childhood sweetheart Sarah (Hunt) and together with
Judy (Dunst) and Peter (Bradley Pierce) tries to outwit the game¹s powerful
    and dangerous forces.

The UMD of Jumanji contains the feature only and is compatible with the
Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP), the first truly integrated portable
entertainment system designed to provide consumers with a truly
comprehensive experience and to support multiple lifestyle applications
including games, music, movies, communication and wireless gaming.

They usually only drop (or add) the commentary when it's a different cut of the film.

I'll buy it. The film is basically a demo real of ILM visual effects, circa '95.
