That's fine as I posted this price reduction in three different threads in order to let more people aware of this pricing.

Nice 4k transfer. Yes, the grain is very evident, but this was shot on 35mm and if DNR is not applied, it should look like this. I had to dial-down the brightness some, as it was nearly blinding. When LAWRENCE OF ARABIA turns up, which was filmed in 70mm, the grain will obviously be less noticeable.

I have seen Lawrence in 4K DCP and the new 70mm print from the 2012 4K and I did notice Digital Image Noise in both that's what I did not like that's why I think the 1989 restoration looks so much better.
I will be looking forward to the reviews when the UHD comes out.

Some scenes in Lawrence are more grainy then others, you could also see this in the 70mm prints but not to the same degree and I agree that the general look of the 4k version is a bit harsher. Handling 65mm negatives with "only" a 4k workflow is not perfect but probably as good as we will get in the foreseeable future.

Don't let that dissuade you from buying this excellent disc.

Sony did not send out review copies of this title, hence the very few reviews.

The "Colonel Bogey March" was not an original tune written for Kwai, as I'm sure you know. In fact, you can hear it in some British war films made in the 1940s as it really was a tune whistled during WWII.

Mr. Marcellino appeared at one of my school assemblies, and whistled his (not so) happy tune.
