    Anyone have the specs on these speakers? I know they are old, but to my ears still give current bookshelves a run for their money...

    Can't seem to find them on Google. Maybe email Boston Acoustics and ask?

    Don't worry about your BAs being "old" - I'm sure there have been incremental quality steps since your speakers debuted but I haven't seen any fundamental improvements in loudspeakers since the late 70s. That's what I think anyway.

    On this forum, The Classic Speaker Pages > Boston Acoustics, there is a thread concerning the HD5 & HD7. Maybe you could ask one of the members there about your HD8s.

    Thanks for the link, Lance [IMG]

    Actually, I bought these speakers in 1990 as replacements for some old Rat Shack speakers that were serving as my mains on my first "HT" (a 19" RCA, 2-head VCR and Pioneer 3030 LD Player). IMO, they can run head-to-head with comperable bookshelves made yesterday (and beat even some of 'em)...

    Derek;
    I'd take Kean-Hock's advice and shoot BA an e-mail from their website. I did this just yesterday afternoon for a PDF manual of their VR12 and I they already e-mailed me back a copy of it this morning... [IMG] -TD

    That's pretty much what I got. It's kind of a combination PR brochure and manual... -TD

    Very cool... [IMG]

    Don't be shy, though. Feel free to post the HD-8's specs in case somebody else is looking for them, when you have the chance... -TD

    Those are big suckers, bigger than I thought they'd be, anyway. I might have been thinking of the HD-5s.

    Good specs for FR and sensitivity considering how old they are. I'd bet they can take more than the rated 75w, too... -TD
