Specs for upgrading laptop CPU - Gateway 2500LS (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to nurse another year or so out of my old laptop. It's a Gateway 2500 LS with a 233 MHz Pentium II. Memory and disk upgrades are cheap and obvious. Various models were sold with up to a 400 MHz processor, but it's not clear to me how much I can stuff into my existing motherboard. There may be different motherboards for the faster processors.

Has anyone found a table that shows how much Pentium II can be stuffed into such a motherboard?
