Speakers for Denon AVR 2803/3803 (1 Viewer)

Hi Audio Gurus,

I am looking into setting up a HT in a room of size 14x14
with 8ft cielings.And there are 5x5 extensions on two sides on the room. I have decided to buy a Mitsubishi 55 inch TV and a Denon 2803 or 3803. My big question is what kind of speakers should i buy for this reciever. I have been reading some of the posts in these forums and i see a lot of folks use different combinations of speakers of different
makes. Can anyone suggest some good speakers. I will be using this primarily for movies and maybe some music.
My budget for the reciever and speakers is $2500.. maybe $3000. I have already found the recievers for $550(AVR2803)$800(3803). So that leaves me another 2000 for the speakers.
Can any one suggest a good combination of spakers.

Heh.. I was going to say that I enjoy listening to my JBL SII series on my Denon 1802, but your budget is much higher.

Many people find the Denon receivers to be warm and claim a bright speaker is a good offset. I'm not familiar with speaker tendencies nor do I think I have a good ear until I am able to listen to REALLY high end equipment, so I cannot help ya out there, guy.

Check out the Axiom's M60. I have them paired with 3801 and I'm very happy with them..

I bought the 3803 three months ago and went with the Monitor Audio Silver series ( S8’s / Silver LCR).

My purchased was based on both music and movies and very happy with the results. I personally enjoy the layed back sound of MA and find the Denon to be a perfect match. Warm midrange, detailed and crisp voice make them great for music and awesome for movies ( my .02 ). I got a Velodyne HGS15 for low end punch and overall I have 0 regrets.
