Speaker Wires - In-wall - Yes vs No (1 Viewer)

Went to the local Radio Shack to get speakers wires and found sone 12 gauge wires that were marked as "not for in wall" use. I will be running my wires through the wall and ceiling. Any one know the diffrence between wire approved in-wall use and wire that is not?

The difference could definitely affect your Insurance coverage if you had the misfortune to have a fire. :frowning: Go with the UL rated for in-wall use stuff only. You can get AR Professional Series In-Wall wire at AudioAdvisor for $.50 a foot and less.
