Speaker wire (1 Viewer)

I just purchased 12 gauge speaker wire from Lowes as recommended. I now have another problem. It does not fit into the back of my reciever like the original did. Please help.

you've got a few options depending upon the back of your receiver.
terminate the wire with pins
terminate the wire with bananas
terminate the wire with spades
break some wires off till it fits
as above but tin the wires.

Uhhhh so long as the strands of wire you trimmed off dont stick out and cause a short years later.

Yes, 12 ga wire is thick. I like the Dual Banana plugs from Radio Shack (2xx-308) for behind my speakers, and the single-bananas (2xx-306) for behind the receiver. The single bananas dont stick out so far.

If you dont have binding posts that take bananas, there are pin-connectors that work well. (but I dont have the radio-shack numbers handy).
