Would using 16 guage wire cause problems with my amp overloading at higher volumes? I thought I might get away with using the 16g wire to run my surrounds since I had some sitting around.

One of the runs is around 50' though. I was testing everything last night and noticed my channel overload signal light was coming on at higer volumes. No where near reference level but moderate movie watching volume. I have never had those lights come on before. However, I've never used 16 guage wire either.

    Could these be an issue?

Good link...I did switch all the wiring out last night to 14 guage. I didn't have time to test it though. Due to the long run and my surrounds being 4 ohms...I would bet that might be the culprit, or at least I hope!
