    Hi,
Was looking for speaker stands for my nOrh 4.0 Marble speakers. Each weight in at around 25lbs. Since they are made of marble, I thought it wool look cool to have them on faux Greek columns.
I looked in Home Depot and they have some that are made of concrete and are $40 per. since I need 5 stands, that gets a bit pricey.
I found a place that sells the molds for $35. What should I use? I would think plaster would give it that nice smooth white look, but is it too weak?
    Any other thoughts?

Here's another place, but the prices may be more than you want to spend.

How about concrete? It's cheap, it's solid, it's paintable. You don't get much deader than concrete.

The only thing is whether or not your mold can handle the weight of it.
