speaker placement

    well my equipment has arrived,onkyo 898 polk rt1000iwill be set up beside my 61 inch panasonic,cs400i on top of the tv,i have one set of fx500i and this is where i need help.i am setting up 7.1 in a room 14x22 tv at center of 14 footwall.couch is about 12 feet back. i have to buy one more set of speakers,do i set up the fx500i behind the couch about 4 feet and use the bipole ordipole settings and purchase a set of rt35i orrt55i to set up at the side of the couch or do i mount the fx500i at the side of the couch and put the direct firing speakers behind me.or any other suggestionswould be helpful
