I just bought a pair of Def Tech BP-8B's for my mains. I currently have my entertainment center in the corner of the room (room limitations due to life in a small townhouse). I have placed each speaker on either side of the entertainment center. Am I restricting the bipolar speakers because I have them placed in this configuration??? I guess in effect (if you can imagine my setup)the back side of the bipolar speakers are firing into the corner.

Corner placement actually works pretty well with some speakers, I don't know about bipolars specifically. Try pulling them out further into the room if you can, that might help the sound. I would shoot for a few feet of clearance in all directions, if that is at all possible.
