Speaker Placement (1 Viewer)

When I stand up in the sweet spot, I can hear, and feel very good tight low bass, from my mains, and subwoofer.
When I sit down in the sweet spot, all that wonderful bass
simply disappears. I have tried moving the speakers around,
and tried the crawling on the floor thing to pinpoint
the best spot, but to no avail. I have a mid-sized room, with a lot of open areas, and not much furniture. Does anybody have any ideas? The room is wall to wall carpet.
