Speaker Making Static Noise (1 Viewer)

Well I Just bought some new Energy Classic take 5's and a Yamaha AVR but when I plugged them together the speaker is making a static noise.

Well I Just bought some new Energy Classic take 5's and a Yamaha AVR but when I plugged them together the speaker is making a static noise.

Just one speaker?

1)be 100% sure you don't have any loose strands of wire touching at either end of the connection.
2)switch the speaker making the noise with a different speaker.

If the same speaker keeps making the noise it could be a problem with the speaker
If the other speaker now makes the noise, the problem would appear to be upstream in the receiver.
