speaker inputs

    just looking at that pic from a yamaha 5760 and since i don't have my receiver yet.. just kinda wondering what you put in the inputs for Center, front, surround...etc.
    The last receiver i had just had a L/R speaker wire inputs.. and since my speakers all just have the speaker wire inputs just wondering what i put in the receiver in those locations... sorry for the dumb question

    Those inputs would be for a player or other device that has multi-channel analog output, such as a DVD player with SACD/DVD-A capability and/or internal DD/DTS decoding. In these cases, the signal is already decoded and the receiver is acting basically like an integrated amp, doing preamp and amplification only.

    Hi Mike,

    Judging from the picture in the link you posted, it appears you’re confusing speaker connections with inputs for accessory components. As John mentioned, the picture shows (among other things) the 5760’s inputs for a multi-channel player like SACD or DVD-Audio.

    As far as connecting speakers, here is a picture from the 5760’s back panel for that:
