Is speaker fabric just the ordinary fabric that you can get at the store or is it special. I just got the two old speakers that are really ugly and I need to cover them up.
    thanks!!!

www.partsexpress.com carries acoustically transparent fabric for speaker baffles. You can buy blank baffles as well.

You can use either. There is special speaker grill fabric from www.partsexpress.com and other places. If you like a fabric though, and you can see through it, it should be okay.

I redid mine with RCA radio cloth from the 30s. There are a few places that sell authentic cloth from early radios that's pretty cool if you have a old house

Radio shack has it as well. Most fabic that is somewhat "breathable" will work esp for subwoofers as the fabric mostly reduces the upper freq's not the lower stuff. If you're not sure about the fabric just hold a test sample up over the tweeters and see how much if any change is heard.
