Hi,

I am thinking of upgrading my Logitech X-530 speakers to a Yamaha YHT-160 HTIB. I noticed my Logitech speakers have two 2 inch drivers in each of the 5 satellite speakers. What is the advantage of having two of these? Do most speakers have more than one driver, and does the Yamaha have more than one driver? Will I notice a major difference between speakers with one driver and speakers with more than one driver? Sorry for my noobish questions, I'm learning. :)

Most speakers have more than one driver, many 3 drivers, many even more. The new JBL studio line has 4 and some 5.

If they are two low end type drivers, this is the increase output on those frequencies.

Most all are two way, a low end frequency and a high end frequency driver. Somne will have a mid range frequency driver, some will have two low end drivers to increase output of those ranges.

Commonly known as 2 way, 3 way, 4 way, ect..ect....
