Speaker calibration question (1 Viewer)

I just calibrated my 6.1 system with Sound and Vision cali. disc, and I have 1 question: I set all 6 speakers and sub, under the 6.1 discrete section. Am I done, or do I also have to use the 5.1 DD section? Thanks.

Depends on your receiver. In most cases, the calibration is a global thing, but there are a few out there that have different settings per source (not usually per format though).

John, I have the JVC-7030, 6.1 Dolby Digital receiver. It also does ES and EX. I don't see anything to help me in the manual. I notice when I watch a DTS movie, it's louder than DD. Does that just mean each speaker is proportionately louder, but my 6.1 cali. is still good? Thanks.

DTS is typically recorded a little louder, so this I would say is normal.
