    Greetings to all
This forum was recommended to me at the comp forum I am a member of.
I am trying to do a spdif between my tosh satellite 5200 laptop and my receiver -HK AVR 510 as well as a desktop unit with a7n8x deluxe mb with nforce2 audio.
both units have a spdif out- the tosh a spdif/shared headphones mini jack and the desktop has rca jack.
Input into digital coaxial rca jacks on the receiver. I am having no luck. According to the avr510 manual pcm operates at 96kHz. I am unable to find documentation with regard to the audio cards on the computers. I know many cards operate at 48kHz. Would this affect the connection. As a side note both my motorola cable boxes(originally dct 2000 now 5100) hook up fine to the Hk via spdif.

Are you sure the laptop's S/PDIF is electrical rather than optical? My laptop's headphone jack also doubles as digital out, but is an optical device (the red LED can be seen flashing in the jack).
