I feel similarly. But then Young Frankenstein is the only Mel Brooks production I found to be consistently funny. As someone who lauds Mel's Young Frankenstein as one of the funniest films ever made, and infinitely quotable—and who also loves Star Wars—I have never found Spaceballs particularly good or even all that amusing to be honest. It has its moments, but can't hold a candle to Young Frankenstein. My hopes are not high for the sequel. Just put... ze candle... beck!
And Moranis coming out of retirement, niiice. If Mel's with it, I'm there. Simple as that.
What a legend and, sadly, one of our last!
So do I but, even if it isn't, Mel has reached the point in his life where he can do pretty much whatever he wants and not worry about the consequences. That's basically my version of the modern American dream.I hope it is good, it will all kind of depend on the writing. I can't resist Mel so I will see it but the History of the World series was not good.
The full title had better be "Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money."
Mel Brooks will be 101 by the time this comes out.
