Seems like an idea way past its sell-by date, but then again there hasn't been much effective Star Wars parody lately so there should be plenty of material to work with. Hope some of the Robot Chicken folks are involved.

After that History of the World streaming show...well...seems like a bad idea.

Love Mel, but not sure he can find collaborators that know how to make a Mel Brooks comedy anymore.

As someone who lauds Mel's Young Frankenstein as one of the funniest films ever made, and infinitely quotable—and who also loves Star Wars—I have never found Spaceballs particularly good or even all that amusing to be honest. It has its moments, but can't hold a candle to Young Frankenstein. My hopes are not high for the sequel. Just put... ze candle... beck!

I feel similarly. But then Young Frankenstein is the only Mel Brooks production I found to be consistently funny.

I hope it is good, it will all kind of depend on the writing. I can't resist Mel so I will see it but the History of the World series was not good.

I look forward to this. Mel made me laugh just in that preview, so as far as I’m concerned, he’s still got it.

So do I but, even if it isn't, Mel has reached the point in his life where he can do pretty much whatever he wants and not worry about the consequences. That's basically my version of the modern American dream.

The full title had better be "Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money."

Mel Brooks will be 101 by the time this comes out.
