The Bastards!

What was the name of the episode where the boys were beating off the dogs? I couldn't believe that one.

Chuck;

That we the episode entitled "Proper Condem Use." It will be one of the shows included on this new DVD release.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I refuse to buy any South Park DVDs that are not season sets.

The insults and injuries continue, folks.
Now the official South Park website has listed yet ANOTHER themed disc to be released in the future.
From their site:
September 3rd "Ghouls, Ghosts, and Underpants Gnomes" DVD/VHS
(Trapper Keeper is left off the VHS)
Episode 312 "Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery"
Episode 215 "Spooky Fish"
Episode 217 "Gnomes"
Episode 413 "Trapper Keeper"
They also mentioned there would be no intros by Matt or Trey (which is somewhat incouraging in that they are not directly supporting the release).
This really gets me pissed now since we have recently been very vocal towards all parties involved about this issue, and then they come back with yet another useless DVD. I even sent a polite letter to the folks at that site http://www.southparkstudios.com/ a few days ago, and yet they do not even acknowledge our complaints.
I feel a lot better about buying the first six Rhino DVDs at Best Buy this weekend. Looks like they won't be replaced or continued for a LOOONG time.
Please, if you haven't yet, send a quick note to any of the addresses generously added to this thread and make sure these people know that we will NOT be buying these half-assed DVDs. Let them know Warner should be affording South Park and its fans the same respect they give to their other TV properties (Sopranos, Friends).

South Park Studios has repeatedly said on its site (see the FAQs -- I think they just addressed this again a few days ago) that the DVD release issue is out of their control and up to Warner's. It sounds very much like 1) they are just as frustrated as we are; and 2) they are tired of hearing about it (maybe because they can't do anything about it).

So, I suspect that piling on the emails really isn't going to do much . . . .

Timmy!

Chris...

That's very irritating. Warner Bros tells the forum that it's out of their hands & is a Comedy Central decision.

Reminds me of when I worked for IBM. We would regularly tell thinkpad users that they had a Microsoft problem and they would return after being told by Microsoft that it was an IBM problem. Clearly it's somebody's problem, nobody wants to own it though.

John:

I hear you. SPS is pretty adamant about their own (implied) hatred of Warner, so I'm inclined to believe them. Especially over Warner . . . .

Here's the last two answers to the question from the site:

February, 2002

Q: Will Vol 7,8, and 9 of South Park DVDs ever be available for purchase? Thanks for Timmy and Winter Wonderland DVDs!

A: Although I've answered this question many times before, here goes. Basically, were not sure. Ever since Warner Brothers took over DVD/Video rights from Rhino, they've switched to theme-based releases.

Complete versions of seasons have been released in England and Europe (available through Amazon.com.uk), but you'll need a DVD player that reads that region. Matt recently got an all-region player from Korea so he could watch all that freaky porno from Japan that was piling up. Check it!

November 22, 2001

Q: When will they put out entire seasons of South Park on DVD?

A: When Warner Brothers Home Video decides to get their heads out....

Why is Buffy on UPN? Well, AOL cut everyone's budgets so they'd get back their investment faster, and even though WB was willing to pay that much to keep the show (and could have at their original budget) they got jakked from the inside. Are they after the DVD department to cut corners? You bet! Everywhere they can! I'm sure someone at WHV is going "Gee, you know people really want to give us their money for season sets" and some AOL exec is saying "Are the best-ofs still selling and cheap to produce? "Well, yes..." "Goodbye" >>>

Another reason to hate big corporations. How much freaking money does AOHELL make that they can't afford to spend?

Another e-mail based on response by WB Online (which said those addresses were only for questions about on-line issues). The suggested sending HV content issues to:
