Good little amps, basically the same as the Parasound hca-1201 that audioadvisor is selling for $230 each (demos)(http://www.audioadvisor.com/store/pr...Amp%20-%20Demo) but with a different faceplate. I believe parasound bought the design when soundstream went under. Great as subwoofer amps or for use as left-center-right speaker amps. 120x1 at 8 ohms, 230x1 at 4 ohms.
These are at my house back in Pa, so I won't be able to ship until next weekend when I return home.
Looking for $160 each plus shipping, or $450 for all three. Always interested in trades, let me know what you've got. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I bought one of these from Dave a while back, and it is an excellent amp. I'm using it right now to drive my SVS 20-39cs, and it is perfect for this purpose. It has never overheated on me, and is THX certified (for those who care). They came well packed and in mint condition.

Good question, I honestly don't remember (haven't used them since the summer).

However, looking under "features" on the audioadvisor page for the 1201, I see "Optional operation via external DC source," so I'm thinking yes, but I'd have to check.

Matt, if you're reading, can you fill us in?

Dave, do these have variable output control?

What kind of input/ouput connections are there?

What kind of condition and how old are these?

    Thanks!

From the manual the rear panel features are:

    XLR Inputs

    RCA Phono inputs

    Balanced/Unbalanced Input switch

    Power Switch

    5-Way Binding Post Output Connector

    Removeable AC Line Cord/Fuse Holder/Cordlox

Accessory Link, the manual states when using the M Series Mono block Power Amps with soundstream THX Controller or other preamplifier with a remote trigger outlet, the amplifier can be turned on remotely. The Accessory link is activated by a five volt signal from any soundstream preamplifier and can be daisy chained from one Mono block to another.

    Hope this helps.

They do have the DC trigger input/output. Input is either XLR or RCA; output is binding posts (banana, spade, bare wire, etc)

So if youare using one of these for a passive sub, they are turned off and on via the rca signal or do they have to be manually turned off? thanks

    Jason,

I believe that's correct (they can be turned on via the rca signal).

Sorry for my lack of info on the amps guys, as I said I really never used them much and since I'm away from home I can't check for you. Thanks very much to Matt and Kevin for their input.

I've got one of these amps left.

The remote power on trigger is that of most amps.

These are a +5 volt DC trigger.

If your Pre-pro or receiver has no remote power output.

    What you would do is.

    Get a wal-wart transformer

    Thanks, Jerry.

Sorry for turning this into a long thread.

    Same amps/parts within.

    Soundstream well underrated these.

Remember SoundStream had a list price in 97 at

    $400. per block.

I have had some of the Soundstream amps for several years.

I purchased 24 additional channels just over a year ago.

With some of the negative press the Parasound amps have received, I opened several of my Soundstream amps to take a peek. Not in one did I find bad workmanship in solder joints or any other, I compared them with a carver 705 and a Rotel, citation 5.1

I believe when parasound purchased the last inventory, they only purchased the remaining parts.

As Soundstream sold out several years prior to the parasound mono block came to market.

So any poor workmanship on the 1201 is from parasound.

When I spoke to parasound some time ago, they did agree

that mostly parts inventory was purchased.

I think they just wanted to make some fast cash on them.

Still a very good amp for the money.

I have seen these go for about $125 a channel.

I just sold five new extra's I had around today for $675.
