My home theater is near finished in my basement. I have a series of ductwork that runs strait across my hometheater, with various branches going to different rooms in the house. The only thing covering the duct work from the audio assualt is one layer of drywall. Is there anything I could do to eliminate or lessen the sound transmition through these ducts into the rest of the house? I am afraid that once I get my sub built my wife wont be quite as OK as she is now. Thanks in advance.

Keoni,

The low frequencies easily go through walls, floors and ceilings. It won’t help just to deal with the ductwork – the entire room will need to be soundproofed if isolation is a concern.
