I have an inexpensive Philips wireless 2.1 soundbar and subwoofer and was just using the stereo mode setting for movies. The other day I tried the virtual surround setting instead of the stereo and was quite impressed. I know it's not real surround and was not looking for it to be but it really does sound nice without seeming to degrade the quality. It does seem to throw some sound a few feet from the left or right of the screen depending on the scene sometimes and generally does a good job...to me anyway and I'm now finding myself paying more attention to the audio reviews when I read movie reviews when deciding on buying a movie.
Anyway I was just wondering if anyone else uses the virtual surround instead of stereo on their soundbars or 2.1 systems...thanks!
